In The Presence Of...

“Have you ever been in the presence of love?”
I turned around to look at her. She always asked the strangest of questions.
“I thought you would ask if I have ever been in love” I replied.
“But I did not.”

I turned my attention back to the rain. “I don’t think so.”
Then as an afterthought. “Well. Have you?”

She sighed. “I think I have.”
“Tell me all about it over a cup of coffee then.”

“I knew both of them just as little” she said. “At times it seemed that they were as thick as thieves. But at other times, they seemed to be lost in their own different worlds. There were times when I felt that they were made for each other. But then they just seemed like the best of friends. Sometimes they behaved like one and the same person. At other times, they seemed worlds apart. It was never the same with them. But every time they were around each other, there was this beautiful chemistry. A strange energy that drew others to where ever it was that they were.”

“Strange” I reflected. “I always prefer to stay a couple of tables away from any love birds in sight.”

“You my friend have not been in the presence of true love then.”
“Maybe not. What happened to your dream couple? Did they realize that they were in love? Did they get married? Are they living happily ever after then?
“I was mentioning love, my dear. What does it have to do with anything else?”

“But then what happened to them?” My curiosity was aroused and I was feeling worried for this strange pair, who may very well have been a figment of my friend’s hyper active imagination.
“I did not hang around to find out. I did not even call back to find out. I have a lovely honey colored vision of what can be, all thanks to them and I want to hang on to it.”

“You are a coward.”

“A coward who has witnessed love” she smirked.

Ps: This post is dedicated to a certain couple that I happen to know. I wanted to make amends for forgetting their anniversary. They don't know about my blog. But then it is the thought that counts, right?

You ar eright the thought counts.. and counts even more if it is done with no prior knowledge to the concerned party :)

No it is not the thought that counts. It is only the acion thay counts.
Great story it took me down a road where I got to fill in all the blanks. I saw the couple and watched them laughing and smiling at each other.
A very nice way to start out my day.

@Mr Mind
Firstly, thank you for stopping by and for commenting. Perhaps this is now the only way we can come across your words now.... :|

Dunno if it is my forte or not....But now I know that it takes a write up, on a certain kind of human emotion, for you to understand a post of mine... :D

people should stop expecting others 2 remember b'days n anniversaries (hell that's such a long word...hope i got the spelling right)!!!

n yeah sometimes people do fall in love n never realize it till it goes away...n then they "fall" into jealousy n they don't realize that also...n then they start commenting stupidly on well-written posts! ;)

Welcome to AASD.
The post is a little bit of both-fiction and fact. And you are right about the word having a wider scope. I chose to concentrate on a couple in this post.
And why would I think you were fictional!?! You have a blog I have seen and I plan to check it out soon. Makes you very believable to me! :)

@Blunt Edges.
1. I like Shanu’s nick name for you-Blunty! :)
2. You got the spellings right for all the long words-wherever you chose to use the complete full word that is.
3. What seems stupid to one entertains the other.
4. You should perhaps write a post on "How to be jealous and still not feel its effects". I would love to know more about that.
5. I have no clue why I wrote in points. Maybe it is cause I hate long paragraphs. Makes it look like I am on a rambling spree or something!
Cheers!

Maine bhi bahut socha yaa. And then I realized that it is a phamoush blogger who almost always is the first to comment on my posts! I am so honored now! And they had said these wise words on a post on...Get this..Love!

And no babes. I don’t mind. Never do. That is what comment sections are for! :)

Call me dumb but I didn't get it -- Why is she a coward?

Actally I didn't get this whole post - the presence of love stuff.

Welcome to AASD.
I understand your dilemma. This is why I had said, in the post, that the friend above, asks the strangest questions. And I have never been in the presence of love myself. So I wouldn't know either!
